Scarlet Fever

Ok, so you can't tell by the picture that I took way too late in the process...but Teagan is getting over Scarlet Fever!!!! Almost 2 weeks ago I took Teagan and Kamryn to the doctor for colds. Teagan ended up having a double ear infection (he's never had an ear infection before and didn't even complain about it.). And both kids had bad yucky colds. Anyway, they gave us a Rx for Teagan's ear infection and we went on our merry way. We moved into our new house a couple days later and the colds were not getting any better...but no complaints of a sore throat, so I didn't even think strep. But about a week ago, I noticed that Teagan had some little red bumps on his cheeks, so I lifted his shirt and he was covered in these little red bumps. We thought maybe it was an allergic reaction to the Rx for the ear infection and the Dr told us to give him some Benadryl and see how they looked after that. Nothing changed and so when John got home from work, he took Teagan (who has still been in high spirits and crazy as ever) to insta-care. John suffered from scarlet fever which led to rhamatic (sp?) fever on his mission, so he was pretty concerned. But since Teagan seemed ok and never complained of a sore throat (strep usually preceeds scarlet fever) I didn't think too much of it. *sigh* I felt like a terrible mom when John came home with a new Rx and our son who definitely had Scarlet Fever. How could I let this happen? I watched him, asked him questions, tried to take good care of him...but who knew you could have strep and not know it. I've had it once when we were newly weds...and it kicked my butt! Anyway, Teagan has been on his new Rx for almost a week now, looks and feels great, and is doing tons better! And luckily none of the rest of us caught it. And even though John and Brody both ended up with colds too.....everyone is on the mend. Kamryn even slept 9 hours last night!!!

Sassy and Shadow

When I asked Teagan this morning if he had finished his banana, he said, "No, Sassy and Shadow are eating it." And this is what I found.
This is Shadow chasing his tail. :o)
Sassy is Teagan's stuffed cat (on long term loan from aunt Kati). Teagan loves this cat. He sleeps with it, takes it in the car, and apparently feeds it. But he has done well to leave the cat at home during preschool, so I think we're safe for kindergarten this fall.

More Random Pics

This was Brody 'helping'. I don't know why he thought taking all the pull ups out and piling them in the kitchen was helping. But you can sure see that he was very proud of himself.
And, once again, tooooo cute not to share!

Random Pics

On Valentine's Day we made a stop at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts...yum. Teagan and Brody were lucky enough to pick up a couple of doughnut baker hats. The next day I caught Teagan wearing his hat and making silly-silly faces in one of our pans. (Yes, I needed to do dishes.)
This night Brody decided he needed to go to bed with his old hat on. He seriously slept with it on. I did put it up on his dresser after I checked on him after he fell asleep though.
My boys love brushing their teeth (thank goodness that is not a struggle). As you can see, Brody needs a little work on getting the right amount of toothpaste on the brush.
Just too dang cute not to share.

We Are Now Home Owners...ah hem...Mortgage Owners

This is our new home. We are very excited and are going to start moving in slowly. It's nothing too spectacular...a pretty typical Utah home...but, it's more than twice the size of our apartment...and I have never been so excited to have a storage room, playroom, and fenced back yard!!!!! I'm sure there will be more pictures to follow.

Fish Fishie John

Teagan went on a field trip with his preschool to a local pet store and was sent home with a gold fish. Teagan would sit on the counter and talk to his fish and even play with his action figures with the fish...don't ask me how...he's got a great imagination. Teagan named him Fish Fishie John. Sooooo cute! Well, Fish Fishie John only lived 4 days. Soooo sad! But we had a good talk about the whole thing and now Teagan wants 4 sharks to replace his gold fish. Hmmmm. Maybe when we move into our new house. Better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all....right.

So You Know...

So you know...yes, the picture below is of my grandparents on the Anderson side. I really, really wanted to post a more current pic of them as cute grandparents...but could not find one. But I will someday. My Grandma Anderson is still living in Endicott, WA. She remembers everyone's birthday, even makes her own cards, and is fun to talk to. For being 80 years old, she is actually quite liberal and has some great stories. Love you Grandma! My Papa Anderson died on Valentine's day 1998. Everyone....EVERYONE loved Papa. And he is missed dearly. He was the nicest, kindest, sweetest man you could ever meet. A great big man with a great big heart...and a great big voice. Beautiful singing voice. Two of the most special people I've ever known.

Can anyone guess who these two wonderful people are?
