My John-John

I just thought I would post a few of my thoughts about my sweet husband...he is so good to me.
Things I love about John.

He is smart.
He is kind.
He is a wonderful father and husband.
He gets up in the middle of the night with the kids.
He is a great cook.
He likes my cooking too.
He does his own ironing (which is not too often...but still).
He can sew.
He is handy.
He has a strong testimony.
He is a hard worker.
He is talented with computers.
He plays with the boys.
He loves his family.
He is a talented writer.
He is fun.
He is helpful.
He knows how to clean and do laundry (even though I prefer to do it).
He is not embarrassed to be a silly dad in public.
He is not embarrassed to do most anything in public.
He does the set up and take down and cooking when we go camping.
He is a safe driver.
He enjoys spending time with our family, over any other activity.
He does not get grossed out by anything, that I can think of.
He is supportive.
He is goal driven.
He is a good teacher.
He showers and brushes his teeth daily.
He has great teeth by the way.
He is always willing to help others out.
He fulfills his church callings.
He is spiritual.
He is mine.
Did I mention that he loves me (sucker)?!.....and He thinks I'm cute.

I'm sure there are so many more things...but I am being interrupted by one of our sweet boys. I love John and am so thankful to be married to him for time and all eternity. He is a wonderful companion.

State Fair

A couple weeks ago, we took the boys to the state fair. My body did not cooperate as well as it had at Lagoon...so I hurt the entire time...and limped around like an old lady, well I guess you could say pregnant lady...but I felt old too. But the boys loved, loved, loved looking at all the animals.
I was in charge of pushing the stroller around while John took the boys up to every animal that they could reach.

Teagan told me later that the pigs were his favorite part. I have to admit, they are not my favorite, but we were able to hit the fine arts building, which I enjoyed.

More Teagan Artwork

This is more of Teagan's colored pencil artwork. I honestly can't remember who he told me it was supposed to be, but I'm sure it was brilliant.

Not-so-great-ending to a Great-Day

Even being big, round, and pregnant...I had a really fun day at Lagoon and didn't hurt too terribly bad while walking around, etc. I even went to Lagoon-a-Beach.....which was almost hysterical to see my big tummy in a swimsuit (I should have had John take a pic of me). But after surviving the entire day...I, of course, had to run to the potty before we took off and well, as I walked in the stall, I started shutting the door behind me and all of a sudden my hand was in extreme pain! A lovely bee was apparently on the stall door and got me good. This is kind of a lame picture, but I was stung right on the knuckle of my pinky finger. It swelled up a bit and hurt for a couple days. That's not right, huh...I could hardly bend my finger and trying to sleep was difficult too...which is not what you need when you are pregnant and can't sleep anyway. Neither of my boys have been stung before...but they are for sure going to have my sympathy when it happens...I forgot how much that hurts!

More Lagoon Pics

Teagan waited so patiently while some super-ride-technicians came and fixed a broken seat belt on the swing ride.
Daddy wasn't sure if he was going to fit in this one....but managed to squeeze in.
I told Teagan he would like the Rattle Snake Rapids but that he might get a little wet....
They ended up getting really wet....but are still in good spirits! This has got to be my favorite picture of the day. John was such a good sport taking Teagan on all the rides and Teagan was also very cooperative. We had a really, really fun day!

Teagan's Favorite Ride

Teagan loved the kiddie bumper cars...they were his favorite. And the lines were short enough that he was able to get off and then right back on again over and over. He did the bumper cars half a dozen times and get really good at it too.

Brody was able to ride only a couple rides and the Carousel was one of them. He also was able to ride the train that went around by all the animals...he enjoyed both.

And More

Brody really getting tired of the stroller.

And More Lagoon

Even though the kiddie rides weren't as fast and exciting as the grownup ones...I think Teagan thought it was cool to be able to do them on his own.

Ya, that's a dragonfly....Brody and I had to find things to keep us entertained while Daddy and Teagan waited in line for their rides.

More Lagoon

Just look at that child's happy face...he was lovin it!
Brody...not lovin it as much.

After doing a bunch of grownup rides, we went to the kiddieland and Teagan enjoyed (or kinda enjoyed) some of the smaller kid rides.

Lagoon

The Saturday before Labor Day we spent the entire day (10 hours!) at Lagoon, and we had a blast! This squid-like ride was Teagan and John's first ride....which shot water at them....which might not have been the best choice for a first ride for Teagan. He does not like having water in his face...so we thought our chances of him wanting to ride anything else were doomed......but.....
He went on the BAT next with John. This is a really grownup ride and I could hardly see Teagan at all. So we were totally amazed with Teagan's bravery and determination to ride as many rides with daddy as possible. He did great!!!

First Day of Preschool

This is Teagan with his backpack yesterday, all ready for his first day of preschool. He did great, as I knew he would. Neither of us shed any tears...although, Brody was a bit disturbed that we were leaving Teagan...today as well. And I felt a sad twinge today when I just dropped him off outside and he turned and said, "See ya after school, mom." He didn't need me at all. That's a good thing, right? Do I need to worry about him?

Two Handsome Devils

Since Teagan received his new clothes from his cousin Eli, Brody has been a bit jealous, especially of his Sunday tie. So I dug out Teagan's old little suit that my mom gave him for his 2nd birthday. It actually fits Brody quite well...except the shirt doesn't stay tucked in. And when I ask Brody to smile...this is the look I get.

Napping?

It's a little hard to see, but this is what I came into the other day when Brody was supposed to be napping. Luckily he hadn't climbed on the top bunk, which he loves to do to wake his brother up in the morning. Such a little monkey.

"I did it!"

Teagan absolutely hates it when all the toys get picked up and then Brody proceeds to pull a toy or two out of the basket. But this time, Brody decided to pull every toy out of the basket and he was so excited and proud of himself.
He kept putting his hands in the air and shouting, "I did it!" Our children have remarkable talents and skills.
